About this piece

The Still Bowl is the piece with the least design in it, which is why it gets used the most. It is a shallow open form with a gentle lip, and it spends its life by a door collecting keys, coins and the things that come out of pockets.

At 11 hours it is the quickest print we make, and at the lowest price in the catalog it is usually the first piece people order and the one they order again for another room.

It handles dry goods happily — whole fruit, wrapped sweets, a folded pair of glasses. We do not recommend it for loose or wet food: PLA has fine layer lines that are difficult to clean thoroughly, so treat it as a catch-all rather than as tableware.

Where it sits

  • By the front door, for keys
  • A bedside table, for a watch and whatever else comes off at night
  • A kitchen counter, for whole fruit

Still Bowl questions

Is the Still Bowl food-safe?

Treat it as a catch-all, not as tableware. It is fine for whole or wrapped dry items, but the fine layer lines in any PLA print are hard to clean thoroughly, so we do not recommend it for loose or wet food.

Can the Still Bowl go in a dishwasher?

No. PLA softens in sustained heat above roughly 55°C and a dishwasher runs hotter than that. Wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it.
